Manufacturing Estimator
Ten (10) years experience in an aerospace machining, fabrication and/or composites environment. High energy, well organized, effective communicator (written & oral).
Solid background in specific machining and fabrication techniques and processes:
- Machining: CNC milling, CNC turning, precision grinding, wire & sinker EDM.
- Sheet Metal Fab: laser processing, punching, shearing, forming, welding.
- Finishing: painting, plating.
- Quality: non-destructive testing.
Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials; aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, alloy steel, Inconel, Hastolloy, Alloy X.
Strong proficiency in CAD (Pro-E or Catia), MS Office, and MS Project.
In-depth understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing with an ability to explain and tech GD&T concepts to others.
- Calculate material requirements, estimate labor hours, anticipate equipment needs and make subcontractor selections based on pricing, delivery, capabilities and perceived expertise.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings & specifications; evaluate requirements; interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements.
- Quote individual component parts, weldments, assemblies or multi-part work packages.
- Synthesize research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Advise management and sales regarding perceived risks.
- Produce accurate and high-quality work, with short lead times and demanding schedules.
