Mechanical Inspector
Minimum 5 years experience in close-tolerance, multi-disciplined aerospace environment; machined, fabricated and composite parts and assemblies. Perform first piece inspections, in-process inspection, first article and final inspections using CMM or conventional precision measuring equipment. Determine part conformity and compliance to customer and industry specifications.
CMM Manager experience preferred; PC-Dmis helpful. Strong plate layout skills, GD&T knowledge required. General AS9100 experience and specific AS9102 first article reporting familiarity required..
Duties Include:
- Inspect, audit, record and generate reports on materials, processes, parts and assemblies using variable or attribute measuring equipment such as CMM, Smart Scope, Micro-Height, bore gages, height gages, indicators, etc.
- Inspect, with ability to read, interpret and explain, to Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Read and understand aerospace specifications including AS9100 and AS9102, military specifications, industry specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
- Create part programs on CMMs.
- Perform inspections and record inspection data associated with First Piece Inspections, First Article Inspections, Receiving Inspections, Final Inspections, Work-in-Process Audit/Inspection
- Control and maintain paperwork, documents, certifications and records
