Composite Shapes provides advanced aviation and aerospace composite structures and components for military and commercial applications. Centrally located at Rick Husband International Airport in Amarillo Texas, Composite Shapes is housed in an 87,000 sq ft facility which includes a 7,500 sq ft pressurized clean room for composite lay up and a large format autoclave. The autoclave work envelope is 7' x 22', and the system is capable of pressures to 100psi and cure temperatures to 500 deg F.
Fabricating capabilities include wet lay up, prepreg, honeycomb composite structures, sheet metal and machined metal components, welding, heat treating and complete finishing.
Our QA testing includes tensile shear, lap shear, drum peel and hardness. NDT inspection processes include eddy current thickness and flaw detection, fluorescent penetrant, and ultrasonic inspection. Current quality model standards are MIL-I-45208 and MIL-Q-9858.
Composite Shapes engineering services include loft data interpretation and reverse engineering, master model and tooling design, and complete CAD/CAM services utilizing Pro-Engineer, Catia, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
