Shapes Aerospace has produced fan ducts, nozzles, internal mufflers, combustion chambers, and exhaust components for aircraft, marine propulsion, and ground turbine applications. Key competencies include high tolerance machining, fabrication and welding of large complex parts and assemblies from aluminum and high-nickel, heat-tolerant alloys. Parts are produced from typical sheet, bar and plate materials as well as forged rings and shapes. The company has developed a "high confidence" and reliable set of partners to supply forgings, spinnings and stampings; allowing us to focus on absolute control over engineering processes, dimensional accuracy, manufacturing quality and schedule.

| | | Hot Section Muffler Internal muffler with main body fabricated from over 360 individual Inconel 718 details. Forward attach flange was machined from an Inconel 718 rolled ring; aft attach ring was machined from a Greek Ascoloy rolled ring. The assembly has over 650 inches (1650 mm) of weld, 102 rivets and 18 pieces of captive hardware and is 19" (480 mm) in diameter and 26" (660 mm) tall. |
| Engine Fan Duct Fan duct for an aircraft engine; from 640 pound (290 kg) rolled ring, machined to 41 pound (18.6 kg) final configuration. Final assembly included perforated liner separated from the main body by structural spacers and z-brackets top and bottom. Outer diameter is 52 inches (1320 mm). | | |
| | | Microturbine Combustor Fabricated from 347 stainless steel; main body was a machined casting, ducting was formed and welded sheet, inlet and outlet flanges machined from bar. Overall dimensions approximately 20" (500 mm) by 30" (760 mm). Final acceptance includes non-destructive weld inspection, dimensional inspection and pressure test. |
